Harrison Metal, O'Reilly AlphaTech Ventures, and prominent industry veterans back Signal Sciences to build a new approach to web application defense.

Signal Sciences (https://www.signalsciences.com), announced today it closed a $2M seed financing round co-led by Harrison Metal and O’Reilly AlphaTech Ventures. Additionally, strategic individual investors/advisors include:

Alex Stamos - CISO, Yahoo
Bob Pasker - Technologist, advisor, and investor
Chad Dickerson - CEO, Etsy
Dan Kaminsky - Co-Founder/Chief Scientist, White Ops
Gene Kim - Founder of Tripwire, and co-author of "The Phoenix Project: A Novel About IT, DevOps, and Helping Your Business Win"
Jim Manico - Security Researcher and Global Board Member, OWASP

Signal Sciences’ product offerings are based on real world experience defending high traffic organizations. "Conventional approaches to application defense are deeply problematic, so I'm excited by the new defensive capabilities that Signal Sciences are bringing to organizations," said Marc Hedlund, VP Engineering at Stripe.
