Hi.diplo, the Service that Facilitates Communication Between Development Teams and Their Clients
(PRWEB) May 22, 2014 -- Hi.diplo, a SaaS service (software as a service) designed for developers and project managers that use git as a Source Code Management (SCM) tool, announces today its launch in beta.
Thanks to this web service, which can be integrated into the main git hosting services (such as GitHub and BitBucket), developers have access to a single working area where they can manage the history of events relating to each and every development project.
Thirty-year-old Simone Dall’Angelo, founder of hi.diplo, web developer and entrepreneur, created this service from his personal experience in the software development field. Simone learned the hard way that a steady stream of e-mails constantly interrupts the developer’s work in all projects such as:
1. E-mails from the client (wanting to know the progress of the work);
2. “Technical” e-mails (warning the developer whenever an event occurs on the servers, such as a deploy, in other words, when you put online a new version of the code);
3. E-mails by team members (warning of a code change or requiring information regarding a change made earlier by someone).
All of these different inputs put weight on the already complex amount of work. They distract the team from their work and create communication problems within the development team as well as in the client relationship.
“I decided to create hi.diplo from the day to day work needs perceived in order to work better and at the same time simplify my work and that of many developers like myself while making each project more understandable and immediately usable for the end customer,” states Simone. He also adds, “Today hi.diplo is a simple and intuitive service where developers and clients can see in real time what is happening in the project independently and without having to ask anything to other team members.”
This way, all team members can focus on their work without unnecessary distractions.
Thanks to hi.diplo’s simple GUI (graphical user interface), the client in turn can more easily follow the work progress, since he/she no longer needs to have technical information capabilities in understanding the complex interface of a Source Code Management program.
Simone adds, “Many tools used on a daily basis can potentially contain interesting information within themselves for the team but presently, for lack of a place in which to keep them organized, they are simply lost. Hi.diplo is this space where all the events related to a project find their place allowing for easy reference.”
The initial hi.diplo setup varies depending on the git hosting service used by the project. In most cases, it is completely automatic, while in the worst case it consists of performing a few simple steps from which the service self-feeds itself. This way, the team can focus on the development for the client.
“The basic idea is that if computers can keep track of what happens in a project, why force people to exchange e-mails asking for information that can be answered with a single click? This is the reason and the purpose of hi.diplo.”
In addition, each project has a dedicated dashboard, which shows all the events that occurred related to the project, whether they are deploy, code changes or any other event.
The focus is no longer only on the code but on a set of events related to a project, which can be seen at a glance in a single and dedicated environment.
Another interesting aspect is also its pricing. Sure enough, at the end of the 30-day free trial, the user may freely decide how much to pay for the service.
“I don’t think that there is a FAIR price for everyone but I like to think that the price may vary depending on the utility that each user perceives."
About hi.diplo: Hi.diplo was founded in 2014. It is a service dedicated to development teams and project managers to better manage internal as well as external communication processes with their clients.
