Herzelia, Israel (PRWEB) May 20, 2014
Extreme Reality, the only company to bring full-body motion analysis and control via a standard 2D camera, announced today’s deadline for submissions for the Extreme Motion Android Challenge 2014. Already, more than 100 Android developers have registered their game concepts.
The contest, open to Android game developers, gives participants a chance to win prizes of up to $8,000 and a meeting with gaming pioneer and founder of EA Trip Hawkins, for the most innovative uses of motion control in an existing or new Android game. In addition to the game that wins the grand prize, three games will win honorable prizes of $1,000 each.
Games submitted by today’s deadline will be evaluated by a panel of judges led by: Trip Hawkins, Founder of EA and Digital Chocolate; Roy Geva Glasberg, Europe Programs Lead, Developer Relations for Google; and Robert Zhang, CEO, Xiaocong Network. The judges will review the following six aspects in their scoring: motionization; graphics and audio; gameplay; stickiness; polish; and, usability.
With Extreme Reality integrated into an Android game, all a player needs to do is place their Android device on a table with the device’s camera facing them, take two steps back, and the motion of their body will be captured and analyzed in real-time, enabling their motion to control the game. Similarly, an Android device can be tethered to a larger screen, such as a TV, so a player can enjoy the same level of immersive motion control offered by console systems.
“We’re thrilled with the enthusiasm from the Android developer community in integrating motion control into games on any Android tablet or smartphone and providing players a console-like gaming experience on the mobile devices they already own,” said Asaf Barzilay, VP Products of Extreme Reality. “We look forward to reviewing the innovative game submissions, from adventure to sports to fitness or dance games, and announcing winners on May 30th.”
