Growth Engineering's new 'Insights' area unlocks social learning

By providing our clients with a place where their learners can discuss their insights and share their knowledge, we’re dropping the reins and allowing professional development to grow independently.

Growth Engineering’s multi-award winning Academy Platform Learning Management System is a gamified social learning portal that allows clients to create vibrant, engaged learning communities that transform organisational performance. It was recently ranked the best in Europe by Craig Weiss of E-Learning 24/7 – and now it has just become even more impressive.

The brand new ‘My Insights’ area of the Academy tackles the well-known 70-20-10 problem: that only 10% of learning occurs through formal training, while 20% happens through observation of others and 70% occurs ‘on the job’. While most Learning Management Systems are capable of delivering, monitoring and reporting on the formal 10%, the very important 90% – which is what, in the long run, allows people to remember what they have learnt – has been overlooked. Until now.

The ‘My Insights’ area of Growth Engineering’s Gamified Social Academy Platform LMS takes social learning to the next level, allowing learners to communicate and collaborate around topics and interests to drive the learning community forward.

Here’s how it works: Academy Admins choose ‘Insight Areas’ they feel are most important to their organisation, then learners join those that are relevant and interesting to them. They can share videos, documents and links, and as the Insights area also utilises Growth Engineering’s award-winning gamification functionality, they’ll be rewarded with points for doing so. The more they share, discuss, debate and critique, the higher up the ‘Top Contributors’ leaderboard they climb – so it’s motivating as well as enlightening.

‘Insights’ unleashes the power of learning, allowing it to take on a life of its own and grow in organic and often unexpected ways.

Juliette Denny, Managing Director of Growth Engineering, said: “We’re really excited about the Insights area – I think it will open up a whole new world of learning. By providing our clients with a place where their learners can discuss their insights and share their knowledge, we’re dropping the reins and allowing professional development to grow independently.”
