MISSISSAUGA, ON (PRWEB) May 22, 2014
Survalent Technology, the most trusted provider of smart grid solutions for the control room, announced today that it has commissioned a new Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) for Rural Electric Convenience Cooperative, Illinois.
Rural Electric Convenience Cooperative (RECC) serves about 5,700 consumers in five counties. Besides farms, the cooperative serves many commercial accounts and several growing subdivisions around Springfield, Taylorville, Litchfield and other towns.
The new system features Survalent’s highly available, open-architecture system based on Windows Server. It includes several of Survalent's open system applications, including: WorldView, SCADA Explorer, IED Wizard and Control Panel, SCADA Add-In, Command Sequencing, Remote Alarm Annunciation, Load Curtailment, MultiSpeak, and Dynamic Voltage Regulation (DVR).
“Survalent is pleased that RECC has selected Survalent to replace their prior SCADA system,” states Steve Strauss, VP of Sales for the Eastern US. “With RECC depending on SCADA to provide load reduction for demand response, they needed to quickly update their system when their prior supplier only gave a few months’ notice that they were no longer supplying products or supporting existing customers. Over the past few years, we have seen several SCADA suppliers leave the market or be sold. Survalent continues to be committed, invest in and innovate control solutions for utilities throughout the world.”
