AAPC (http://www.aapc.com), the leader in advancing the business of healthcare, is introducing its latest innovative solution for medical coders, Practicode. Practicode offers online modules that help coders strengthen coding skills, demonstrate their proficiency, and earn continuing education units.

Using actual cases and charts with all identifiable personal information removed, Practicode modules provide user-friendly practice and training while helping to meet professional goals. Coders can improve skills using the cloud-based modules in general or specialty coding. Certified Professional Coders – Apprentice (CPC-A®) seeking to meet professional experience requirements can earn one year of experience through successful completion of the Practicode CPC-A practicum. Employers can evaluate coding proficiency of new employees or test existing employees’ proficiency in new specialties.

“Coders get real-world experience and can conveniently access the tool anywhere,” Barry Johnson, DDS, president, Enterprise Solutions, said. “Practicode offers improved quality, standardization, and convenience for continuing education and assessment, all while providing the benefits of CEUs, experience, and demonstration of proficiency.”

Practicode provides three distinct services to three types of users:

  •     Practicode modules for coders’ continuing education - These individual modules feature 100 case-based exercises in multiple specialties.
  •     CPC-A Practicum – This product provides three 200 exercise modules for apprentices who wish to accelerate removal of their apprentice status.
  •     Practicode Employer Assessments - These are available in various specialties for employers who wish to assess new or current coders’ proficiencies.
