California Deputy Attorney General Venus D. Johnson Keynotes The G.U.R.L.S. Lead Global Leadership Celebration of Girls as Leaders
San Jose, CA (PRWEB) May 22, 2014 -- On Wednesday, May 28th, noted South Bay community leaders will join Dr. Raye Mitchell, CEO and Founder of The G.U.R.L.S. Lead Global Leadership Program, to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of San Francisco Bay Area Millennial hero Helen Kassa (age 15). At the age of eight, this gifted young lady started Giving Hope to Kids Like Me, a foundation to increase access to "STEM and education” for girls in the Bay Area and around the world. Kassa remains an activist and mentor for women and girls across the globe. California Deputy Attorney General Venus D. Johnson will deliver the evening's keynote address.
The celebration's stellar host committee includes: San Jose Councilmember Ash Kalra; Reverend Jethroe Moore, President of the Silicon Valley-San Jose Chapter NAACP; Mr. Nabi Alemu, community leader; Mr. Toni Alexander, Political Director at UFCW Local 5; and Ms. Chandra Brooks, Officer of Women's Policy for the Santa Clara Commission on the Status of Women.
