The Geothermal Resources Council (GRC) has announced more details of events at the world’s largest annual geothermal conference at the Oregon Convention Center, Portland, Oregon, USA.
In addition to the main event of the GRC Annual Meeting & GEA Geothermal Energy Expo taking place September 28-October 1, 2014, there will be two workshops and three field trips before the conference and one field trip just after.
The two pre-event geothermal workshops will be held over two days. Introduction to Hydrothermal Systems and Geothermal Exploration and Geothermal Leasing, Unitization and Water Use Legal Issues will take place on September 26 and 27, before the start of the GRC Annual Meeting & GEA Geothermal Energy Expo at the Oregon Convention Center, Portland, Oregon.
The GRC Workshop presentations will be given by experts from private industry, national laboratories and universities, and should prove valuable for anyone interested in learning about the latest exciting developments in geothermal energy.
In addition, there will be three pre-event and one post-meeting field trip. A geological field trip through the Willamette Valley, a trip to Mount St. Helens and another to Newberry Crater, the site of Altarock Energy’s Newberry Volcano Enhanced Geothermal Systems (EGS)’ Demonstration project will take place just before the GRC Annual Meeting. A three day GRC Field Trip to the Klamath Falls area will set off after the end of the meeting.
The GRC Annual Meeting & GEA Geothermal Energy Expo is the industry’s largest annual gathering of leading geothermal energy scientists, producers, renewable energy industry stakeholders, regulators, utilities, and key associated business leaders. The four-day event will offer technical, policy, and market conference sessions, educational seminars, tours of local geothermal and renewable energy projects, and numerous networking opportunities.
