The SCDC enlists NDI-RS to supplement their security initiatives.
South Carolina (PRWEB) May 23, 2014 -- The SCDC will be leveraging NDI-RS’s relationship with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED). SLED maintains a statewide license plate data system using NDI-RS’s back-office software, the Vehicle Intelligence Server and Communications Engine (VISCE). This centralized hub for South Carolina ALPR users means that the SCDC is not required to purchase or maintain a server to handle their ALPR data.
In addition to fixed ALPR systems like those that will be implemented by the South Carolina Department of Corrections, NDI-RS also offers a full range of other types of ALPR solutions, such as mobile systems installed in vehicles and covert systems that are ideal for checkpoint operations and other temporary ALPR deployments. Data from any NDI-RS system is transmitted to the VISCE central back office. The data can be analyzed to identify suspect vehicles, detect crime patterns and trends, and alert command staff and officers to vehicles of interest, such as those involved in AMBER and Silver Alerts.
“We are happy to welcome the South Carolina Department of Corrections to the rapidly growing group of NDI-RS customers in South Carolina,” said Christopher McKissick, director of sales. “Our relationship with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division allows us to provide a unique level of service to our customers in that state, and we look forward to helping the SCDC protect their communities.”
