Online Platform to be Launched Which Will Bridge the Gap Between the General Public and Skilled Craftsmen
Isere, France (PRWEB) May 22, 2014 -- /kra:ft/ offers a customizable online space for businesses to showcase their work as well as offer workshops year round. Not only does it provide craftsmen with an audience on a local level but the platform will get rid of boundaries and allow artisans to showcase their work on a national and international scale.
On the other end of the spectrum enthusiasts and trainees can book online craft activi-ties with specialists through out the year no matter what location the users are in.
“I imagined /kra:ft/, a web-platform bringing together the public and craftsmen, today’s main torchbearers for small-scale production expertise.”
Caroline the founder of this unique niche website is not new to the scene of arts and crafts. She would commonly visit her grandparents in Chartreuse in the French Alps, where she was around a generation that thrived on handy work and manual labor.
“Not only could you rediscover and experiment with the traditional techniques local to your region you could also explore those of other cultures while traveling abroad and gradually start to create original, personal and useful objects on the go, just like our an-cestors.”
Orthlieb’s idea is one of a kind, and /kra:ft/ will be the first web-platform to include live booking with craft workshops in several languages. The website boasts secured payment as well as user interactivity which will not be cheap to produce. Caroline has launched a crowd fund campaign on the popular Indiegogo website to make this concept a reality.
As of now all funds used will go into development of the web platform, and according to the entrepreneur's indiegogo page, they are seeking to raise a minimum of 10,000 Euros.
