Groundbreaking science profiled at Mindray’s International IVD Forum in Spain
(PRWEB UK) 22 May 2014 -- The Mindray International IVD Forum took place in the beautiful city of Madrid in Spain on 23rd April 2014.
The forum was entitled ‘From Complete Blood Count (CBC) to Complete Haematology Solution’, and included six scientific presentations on the general theme of connectivity and innovation in hematology. The truly international faculty included experts in hematology with experience of working with Mindray’s BC-6800 Blood Analyser.
The day began with a warm welcome from Dr. Ziling Huo (General Manager of Mindray’s Haematology Business Unit) and Mr. Jose Maria Rodriguez (Mindray’s General Manager in Spain) to the 200+ invited guests from 30 locations around the world.
The hosts then introduced three distinguished Mindray customers from Spain and Mexico, who delivered their respective speeches on ‘What Differentiates a World Class Laboratory from Others?’ The speeches were entitled: ‘The Technology: Mindray BC 6800 Haematology Analyser’, ‘The Outcome: Information vs. Result’, and ‘The Knowledge: Expert Morphologist’.
These were followed by presentations from two more valued speakers from Italy (‘Going 3D in Haematology Analysis – Contributions of the 3rd Dimension to Clinical Labs’) and Poland (‘The Evaluation of the BC-6800 Haematology Analyser in the Paediatric Hospital Setting’).
The final presentation came from Dr. William Li, the director of Mindray’s Beijing R&D center, which was entitled: ‘From Complete Blood Count to Total Haematology Automation – Tales of Evolving Technologies’.
The presentations were designed to enrich the delegates’ knowledge of lab automation, complete haematology solutions, and their understanding of the BC-6800, through the speakers’ perspectives and experience of its excellent performance in different settings. They covered topics such as connectivity and efficiency in managing data within clinical laboratories and on the ward, and the importance of information management for effective analysis, and timely determination and confirmation of disease.
Dr. Vijay Parekh (Scientific Director of Mindray’s IVD division), concluded the Scientific Session with a product launch for the OmniLab CAL 8000 210 haematology system. This powerful new workstation combines the BC-6800 with Mindray’s SC-120 slide maker and stainer, so that all of the current laboratory blood tests can be performed by one consolidated machine, in which the customers showed high interest. Dr. Parekh closed by thanking all the speakers and guests, who agreed the forum had been a huge success.
