A Child from Every State Sheds Light on Fundraising Need for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals
Salt Lake City, UT (PRWEB) May 23, 2014 -- Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals is casting the spotlight on 54 courageous kids treated for a range of illnesses and injuries at its member hospitals across the U.S. Starting today, visitors to CMNHospitals.org can meet these state ambassadors and learn what dollar-by-dollar donations have done to further advances in local pediatric care.
“Every day, 170 member Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals stand ready to admit more than 3,000 kids who will walk through their doors. This year’s Champions provide a voice, a smile and a clear case for why local giving results in local healing,” said John Lauck, President and CEO of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
“The impact of location donations is really demonstrated in this year’s 52 Champions stories. These kids have benefited from things like new ER departments, transplant programs, two surgical floors, a cancer research lab and a trauma 1 center. Treatments have improved thanks to CT scanners and MRI, EKG and chemotherapy machines — all purchased thanks to local donor support,” commented Lauck. “Children’s hospitals have a need that continues to grow, which is why we’re encouraging donors to put their money where the miracles are by supporting their local CMN Hospital.”
This spring, Champion ambassadors will be introduced to their community and state at Marriott International properties across the U.S. While Marriott may be Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals’ longest standing corporate partner, the company continues to evolve its partnership with its sponsorship of the 2014 Champions program.
“We look forward to welcoming and hosting 54 very special kids and their families when they visit Washington this coming November,” said David Marriott, Chief Operations Officer, Americas Eastern Region, Marriott International. “As a father of four and a participant in CMN Hospitals’ Torch Relay fundraiser, I understand why our associates rally each year to support such an important cause. Our 30-year commitment to CMN Hospitals is one that means a great deal to Marriott. We look forward to our continued partnership for many more years.”
“I’ve been involved with CMN Hospitals for most of my career at Marriott,” said Rob Steigerwald, Chief Operations Officer, Americas Western Region, Marriott International, and member of the CMN Hospitals Board of Governors. “It’s incredibly meaningful to come together in support of these courageous kids, their loving families, and the CMN Hospitals doctors, nurses and medical staff who become their superheroes.”
The 2014 Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals “Champions” program is presented by Delta Air Lines, Marriott International and Chico’s FAS.
“As we take part in these kids' journey throughout the year — culminating in an Ambassador Tour to our nation’s capital and Network-wide Celebration in Florida — we thank Delta, Marriott and Chico's FAS for making the Champions ambassador program possible. And we encourage folks to look for their state Champion ambassador throughout this year,” said Lauck.
