Seattle, WA (PRWEB) May 27, 2014 -- eBid Systems, a leading provider of e-procurement solutions, announced today that government owned Oman Drydock Company (ODC) has selected its cloud-based software, eBid eXchange, to manage its supplier database, tendering, and contracts.
ODC is one of the largest and most state-of-the-art ship repair yards in the Middle East. Located in the Al Wusta Region of Oman on the southeast corner of the Arabian Peninsula, it has provided engineering services and maintenance to hundreds of international carriers, from Japan, USA, India, Iran, and others.
eBid eXchange will modernize ODC’s manual tendering process with the ability to easily automate the creation, tabulation, and evaluation of the tendering process for both materials and services. Because ODC is government owned, eBid eXChange will enforce adherence to best practices for managing public procurement, including receiving sealed bids, posting awards, and providing an audit trail of key activities, including communications and bid openings. Furthermore, eBid eXchange will streamline the registration of their extensive list of international vendors, ensuring that they meet the Company’s technical, quality, environmental, health, and safety requirements.
Since eBid eXchange is a cloud-based platform, it is able to be rapidly deployed. With the continued support of eBid Systems’ regional partner, Prequal Group, ODC expects it will be able to begin managing their vendors, tenders, and contracts electronically in about five weeks.
