Lawn Care Professional Service Covered in Three-Part Series

Turf Magazine, the comprehensive publication on all things related to lawn care, recently featured Naperville, IL based Spring-Green Lawn Care in a three-part series about franchising. Part one, released in April, focused on the top franchisors in the industry and their programs to seek out independents in the lawn care industry with services that can enhance their brands.

For example, Spring-Green Lawn Care, one the top lawn care franchisors, has introduced innovative programs to target independent professionals in the industry who wish to gain branding strength by adding Spring-Green Lawn Care to an existing tree business or other lawn care related business.

This program is called the Green Associate Roll-In Program. James Young, president of Spring-Green, is clearly creating new opportunities for would-be franchisees and a conversion type program for those already working in related areas.

According to Young, “It’s an obvious match. These independent operators such as tree care specialists, are looking for more revenue once they have already won the trust of the homeowner and are caring for their trees. By adding a Spring-Green franchise, they open themselves up for more work on the properties, and more revenues. The benefit for Spring-Green is we get an experienced lawn care professional as a franchise partner.”

Spring-Green also offers a FlexStart program that has proven quite successful. The program allows new owners to operate part-time temporarily in order to gradually integrate themselves into the business. The Turf article explains this as a way for new business owners to keep their current occupations while they develop their lawn care companies over a longer term. Spring-Green also has an option for in-house financing.

According to the article, which will conclude with its final segment in the June issue, 7,500 communities are now under contract with Spring-Green and the company experienced a 90 percent revenue growth in the 2000-2010 decade.
