Omega3 Innovations Selected as Finalist for the Healthcare/Wellness Organization of the Year Award
Venice, FL (PRWEB) May 27, 2014 -- For the fourth year in a row, Omega3 Innovations is in the running for the Frank G. Berlin, Sr. Small Business Awards, this time as a finalist in the Healthcare/Wellness Organization category.
“We are honored to be finalists for the Small Business of the Year Awards again,” said Dr. Anne-Marie Chalmers, co-founder and president of the Venice-based biotech company. “This recognition puts us one step closer to achieving one of our company's goals -- transforming Sarasota County into the fish oil capital of the United States. Now in its 24th year, the Frank G. Berlin, Sr. Small Business Awards recognize member businesses of the Sarasota Chamber of Commerce across eight categories. In 2010, the awards committee recognized Omega3 Innovations as a winner in the innovation category for creating a gluten-free cookie containing as much omega-3 fish oil as a salmon dinner. The two following years, the biotech company competed as a finalist in the Small Business of the Year award category.
“While we have competed to win the Frank G. Berlin, Sr. awards several times, we feel like we bring many new elements to the table this year,” said Chalmers. In addition, Chalmers said the company has been steadily growing in number of employees, revenue, and product offerings.
Omega3 Innovations will compete against two other local companies in the Healthcare/Wellness category: HearCare Audiology Center and the NeuroChallenge Foundation. The awards ceremony will take place on June 13th at the Hyatt Regency in Sarasota, FL.
