Andinero, a new digital currency, launches in private beta at the Arctic15 startup conference in Helsinki, Finland. Andinero brings an alternative to the fast growing digital currency market: it is easy to understand, and compared to the many virtual currencies available, its value is expected to be very stable.
Andinero is not a cryptocurrency like Bitcoin, Litecoin or Ripple, but a new kind of digital currency with value based on real assets, such as gold. Its mission is to replace traditional, government-regulated money and offer a better, digital alternative. Andinero is anonymous, private, stable, and enables digital money transfers free of charge.
The company’s Co-Founder Aleksi Aaltonen explains why Andinero was born: “People have their privacy and financial independence compromised every day by corrupt, greedy governments and criminals. Andinero aims to change that through anonymity and improving security.”
Andinero, registered in Tallinn, Estonia, welcomes developers and entrepreneurs all around the world to build applications and new types of use scenarios for the new-born digital currency. The company will soon announce new partnerships, such as a new type of virtual corporate entity and freelancer payment system, allowing anyone to found a global, virtual company in just a few clicks.
The new currency is now available in private beta for a limited amount of users, and the invitation list is open at the company’s website, http://www.andinero.com.
