Seniorlink Announces New Board Member Meghan Fitzgerald
Boston, MA (PRWEB) May 27, 2014 -- Seniorlink, the parent company of Caregiver Homes which provides a long-term care service model called Structured Family Caregiving, is pleased to announce the appointment of Meghan Fitzgerald, president of Cardinal Health Specialty Solutions, as a new member of the company’s Board of Directors.
“From my first meeting with Meg, I knew that her unique talents and broad health care experience were key assets that would benefit our company,” said Tom Riley, Seniorlink President and CEO. “Meg is an accomplished leader who has embraced our mission of empowering caregivers as they support complex elders and individuals with disabilities who choose to live in the community. We are fortunate to have attracted someone of Meg’s stature in the industry.”
Fitzgerald has more than 15 years of experience in health care, with over a decade in the specialty pharmaceutical industry. Currently, she serves as president of Cardinal Health Specialty Solutions, one of the fastest growing businesses of Cardinal Health, a Fortune 19 global health care solutions company.
“As advances in medicine help patients live longer, fuller lives, the health care industry needs specialized services to help all people receive convenient, high-quality care in what’s arguably the most cost-effective setting: the home,” said Fitzgerald. “It’s an honor to support Seniorlink in its mission of helping elders with complex medical conditions and people with disabilities live with dignity and independence in their communities. New health care models like Structured Family Caregiving are good for patients and good for the economics of health care.”
Before joining Cardinal Health, Fitzgerald held executive positions with industry leaders including Medco Health Solutions, Merck, and Pfizer Global Pharmaceuticals. A nurse by trade, Fitzgerald holds three degrees, most recently receiving her DrPH from New York Medical College and an MPH in Global Health Policy from Columbia University, where she also serves as a member of the adjunct faculty, teaching “The Business of Healthcare.”
