'The bad guys are becoming more sophisticated when it comes to targeting federal agencies and this hypothetical scenario could easily happen to any agency worker,' said Jean-Paul Bergeaux, Chief Technology Officer of SwishData.

SwishData, a woman-owned group of leading data performance architects for the federal marketplace, today announced the launch of a new online resource called “Cyber Attack Defenders,” which shines a light on the real dangers and realities that federal agencies face when it comes to cyber security.
The first video in the campaign called “The Defenders” showcases a hypothetical federal worker who experienced a life-changing breach when hackers steal data from the agency and divert attention from the breach by framing him for espionage. As a result, federal marshals raided his house in front of his wife and children.
The hackers also purchased airline tickets and rented a house abroad for the victim’s family – to create the illusion that this worker had been paid and was fleeing the country. Federal authorities ultimately detained the innocent employee, who will now face a tremendous challenge in clearing his good name.
“The bad guys are becoming more sophisticated when it comes to targeting federal agencies, and this hypothetical scenario could easily happen to any agency worker,” said Jean-Paul Bergeaux, Chief Technology Officer of SwishData. “As such, this new campaign aims to both raise awareness of the dangers in today’s cyber landscape, and most importantly, will offer solutions to prevent these types of breaches from occurring in the first place.”
Along with industry partners such as McAfee, NetApp, RiverBed, RSA, Forescout, Securonix, Vormetric and VMware, SwishData is launching this campaign to showcase its comprehensive, full life-cycle cyber security solution for federal agencies. The next videos – in the series of three videos – will feature additional key solutions and other likely threat scenarios that could occur. The second video, “The Prosecutors,” will launch in June 2014.
