Section8programs.com launches their new and improved Section 8 and Subsidized Housing Online Packet.
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) May 29, 2014 -- Section8programs.com has developed a revised rendition of the Section 8 and Subsidized Housing Online Packet. This was designed and developed by internet guru Hiram Lewis in 2003. The purpose of the Online Packet is to make searching for various government or general low income programs easier. The Online Packet is updated each week. After the initial fee of $15.00 there are not additional cost. They never have to pay for it again. The client will have unlimited access to their Online Packet and be able to take advantage of updates from now on.
Section8programs.com is in no way affiliated with the government or any housing authority. Their Online Packet provides an updated list of links to official housing authority websites that have public housing and low income housing applications online. The one time fee of $15.00 for the Online Packet in no way accelerates one's section 8 housing application process with any housing authority. An applicant will print their application and mail it to the address listed on the application, or submit it online as indicated by that housing authority.
With the Online Packet, one can locate their state from a list of links to view a public housing or low income housing application. After completing an application, it is typical for applicants to be on a waiting list for several years. These long list exist because of the vast number of applicants that are trying to receive government subsidized rental assistance. The length of time it takes for someone's name to reach the top of a waiting list will vary with each housing authority. If and when one's name comes up and they are contacted by that housing authority, they will have to move into the city and state of which they have applied. An applicant can apply to many housing authorities and be on several waiting list at once, but housing authorities give special preferences to those already living in their city and state. Depending on the housing authorities policies and procedures, an applicant may also be required to come in for an interview.
The packet can also be used to learn about lesser known government rental assistance programs and how to apply for section 8. The section 8 program produces renters in every state that need available apartments. One can learn how to apply for Section 8 and find links to available applications in the Online Packet. Applications however are always free at any housing authority when a section 8 waiting list is open.
The Online Packet contains information on how to become a section 8 landlord as well. This type of landlord is simply an independent landlord that has had the necessary inspections required by the housing authority in order to accept the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher (inspections are free). Some housing authorities will want the potential section 8 landlord to have a voucher holder already interested in renting from them. Landlords are able to list as many properties that they have in Housing List blog which is included in the Online Packet. Tenants also register with this blog to find or be found by landlords that can accept their vouchers. The housing list is unique only to Section8programs.com. Tenants can post information about themselves to be referenced by section 8 landlords. This tool serves as a type of match making vehicle for both parties that have very specific needs.
Links are provided to housing authorities that are currently accepting applications for any type of government rental assistance. A public housing or section 8 application is always free at your local housing authority when they are accepting applications. The difficulty, however, is finding one that is. Housing authorities do not necessarily network. Usually no additional information is given to potential applicants as to what other housing authorities in that state are accepting applications and allowing applicants to apply.
A section 8 landlord can discover the benefits of participating in subsidized or affordable housing programs, and they can also list their properties for free on Section8programs.com (low income or otherwise). They can learn the advantages of participating in these programs and how to receive such benefits as: Grants for property improvements, buying and selling foreclosed homes, and much more. By urging section 8 landlords nationwide to participate in government rental assistance programs, and educating them about subsidized housing, the gap between a low income tenant and an independent landlord is being reduced.
The new Online Packet also contains the Section 8 Consolidation Program application. This is a non federal program that awards grants to low income families or individuals. Applicants can apply for the Section 8 Consolidation program online and / or find listings from a section 8 landlord in their area. The Section 8 Consolidation Program combines low income grants with affordable housing opportunities that come in the form of listings in the Online Packet. Section 8 housing voucher holders can user their Packet to retrieve section 8 listings from a landlord in their area, and apply for section 8 online when applications are being accepted.
