Technology Jobs Are Booming – Americans Seeking Technology and Engineering Jobs Show Greatest Confidence Levels
Lebanon, NH (PRWEB) May 28, 2014 -- StartWire, America’s #1 job search organizer, today released the April 2014 Job Seeker Confidence Index, showing three consecutive months of positive job seeker outlook, with notable growth among job seekers in the Technology and Engineering sectors.
“U.S. job seekers have shown consistent optimism in finding a job since the beginning of the year,” said Chris Forman, CEO of StartWire. “The consistency of confidence levels is a good indicator of the vitality and promise of the job market.”
The April 2014 Job Seeker Confidence Index stands at 50.63, reflecting the 3rd month since the study began to hold a reading above 50. The index sits on a scale of 0 – 100, with scores greater than 50 indicating a strong belief amongst job seekers that they will find a job within the next 45 days – and a score below 50 indicating the opposite.
The Technology/Engineering sector showed a +2.12 increase in optimism as the index climbed from 49.08 to 51.2 in April.
“The increasing April confidence index numbers for technology professionals are reflective of growth in hiring trends, driven by a vibrant and expanding tech sector of both start-up companies and growing enterprises across the U.S.,” added Forman.
