Good Time Beverages, Manufacturer of Single-Serve Spirits and Pre-Mixed Cocktails in Eco-Friendly Packages, Secures First Immigrant Investor under Federal EB-5 Program
Downey, CA (PRWEB) May 29, 2014 -- Good Time Beverages®, LLC (http://www.goodtimebeverages.com), a leading producer of single-serve, ready-to-drink (RTD), premium, mixed COCKTAILS TO GO® in portable, earth-friendly, re-sealable pouches, has officially announced that it has received approval of the Company’s first Immigrant Investor under the Federal EB-5 Visa Direct Investment program (http://www.uscis.gov/working-united-states/permanent-workers/employment-based-immigration-fifth-preference-eb-5/eb-5-immigrant-investor), operated by the Department of Homeland Security’s U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). The new investor’s approval is based on the completion of the first step in this foreign Direct Investment program, the filing and approval of the division’s Form I-526 (http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-526instr.pdf), which will ultimately lead to granting the investor an immigrant visa in return for their investment in Good Time Beverages.
“Our first EB-5 investor committed one million dollars through his investment. He believes that we are on the cutting-edge in the spirit, wine and contract packaging industries, due to our patents, copyrights and trademarks that have worldwide applications,” said Robert (“Bob”) Whyte, CEO and Founder of Good Time Beverages.
According to a recent article on EB-5 Investment Report Magazine (http://eb5investmentreport.com/eb-5-visa-direct-investments-the-hot-new-trend/), “More start-up and expanding business owners are turning to wealthy overseas investors willing to risk their money to create jobs in Southern California in exchange for earning their green card.”
Good Time Beverages, a producer of wine and spirits products, also has an expanding contract packaging operation based in Downey, a section of Los Angeles. Downey is located in what is deemed by the USCIS, as a “Targeted Employment Area” – “an area that, at the time of investment, is a rural area or an area experiencing unemployment of at least 150 percent of the national average rate.” Good Time Beverages plans to add four additional Direct EB-5 Investors to continue to support the operation’s expansion.
“The approval of our partner’s application under Form I-526 is the first step towards our continued business development and growth,” said Mr. Whyte, who went on to say, “We will continue to add additional Direct EB-5 investors to support our growth – and the American economy.”
The Company’s first Direct Investor is currently based in China, and will join Good Time Beverages as the Company’s international marketing director.
Mr. Whyte explained, “When a Direct EB-5 Investor desires a closer relationship between the investment made and the management of that investment opportunity, which is what our first investor was seeking, a Direct EB-5 Investment is the more optimal choice – investment in a Regional Center does not offer that closer bond.”
EB-5 investments made in a USCIS-designated “Regional Center” (http://www.selarc.com/september.pdf), are broader investments in named industries within a geographical area, and not necessarily in a specific business or company.
Good Time Beverages began operations in March of 2011, with the purpose of producing, bottling and distributing high-quality spirits products for the adult beverage market, including the Bob & Stacy’s™ and Big Barrel Spirits™ brands, in addition to other brands owned by the Company. Good Time Beverages’ manufactures its patented FlexPouch™ for many of its branded products, and in the fall of 2013, the Company launched a contract packaging operation in order to package liquor and wine products for other suppliers or marketers in the beverage industry. Good Time Beverages’ packaging platform operates out of the Company’s Downey, California, federally licensed Distilled Spirits Plant (DSP).
Good Time Beverages’ portable flex pouches are lightweight and sport a compact profile, ideal for space-saving storage and shipment. Their eco-friendly design allows them to carry about an 80% lower carbon footprint than other packaging, and they create 90% less landfill waste as compared to other packaging containing equal amounts of liquid. Good Time Beverages’ use of their flex pouch packaging for both their own brands, as well as other contracted product lines, organically increases the products’ environmental benefits and positive impacts.
Good Time Beverages’ “BOB AND STACY’S” and “BIG BARREL SPIRITS” brands include their “Ultra Premium Vodka”, “Bob & Stacy’s Premium Margarita”, “Bob & Stacy’s Premium Cosmo” and “Big Barrel Brandy XO” products, all “bar quality”, full-proof, innovative cocktail concepts – utilizing only premium spirits – packaged in ‘green’, grab-and-go pouches.
Good Time Beverages now has product distribution in 15 U.S. states, as well as internationally, and is a sector leader in the manufacture of one-drink, 200ml-size, spirit-based adult beverages. The Company also manufactures other products sized up to 1.75 liters, and sells and ships their branded products through their distributor network, to major chains and retailers, special events and airlines. Good Time Beverages is licensed by Federal oversight from the TTB (Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau), a government organization established under the Homeland Security Act of 2002.
USCIS administers the Immigrant Investor Program known as “EB-5”, which was created by Congress in 1990 to stimulate the U.S. economy through job creation and capital investment by foreign investors. Under a pilot immigration program first enacted in 1992 and regularly reauthorized since, certain EB-5 visas also are set aside for investors in Regional Centers designated by USCIS based on proposals for promoting economic growth.
All EB-5 investors must invest in a new commercial enterprise, which is a commercial enterprise that was either a) Established after Nov. 29, 1990; or, b) Established on or before Nov. 29, 1990, that is either 1) Purchased and the existing business is restructured or reorganized in such a way that a new commercial enterprise results; or, 2) Expanded through the investment so that a 40% increase in the net worth or number of employees occurs. Good Time Beverages falls under category “2”.
