PeakAbout is the new Smartphone App from Berkeley Nucleonics that allows you to manage your Radiation Isotope Identifiers from a safe distance. The app controls both Backpack and Handheld radiation isotope identification devices (RIIDs) and gives users the ability to move away from the detector to perform analysis at a distance.
With PeakAbout’s Broadcast functions, users are also comforted by the ability to stream what they are seeing on the screen back to their management or a reachback team. The Android app uses the Smartphone’s data plan or WiFi connection to transmit the screen details in real time. “It’s like having a room full of people looking over your shoulder,” comments Applications Manager Mark Slattery.
Streaming the screen of an Isotope Identifier has long been in demand for both operational activities and user training. PeakAbout allows a class full of new users to watch what is on the screen of a single SAM 945 or SAMPack Radiation Detection Backpack in real time. In the past, users would share instruments or assemble closely together to view data on small embedded screens. PeakAbout allows trainees to focus on what counts….operation of the instrument, rather than catching a glimpse of the operator’s fingers as he manipulates the GUI.
The SAM 945 is loaded with new features, the PeakAbout app is just the beginning. For more, see http://www.berkeleynucleonics.com or call 800-234-7858.
About: Berkeley Nucleonics is a leader in instruments for nuclear detection. We manufacture state-of-the-art Isotope Identifiers and offer many types of nuclear detection materials. We work with scintillators and solid-state detectors and combine gamma and neutron analysis. We started in 1963 offering nuclear electronics for MCA developments.
