Brentwood, Tenn. (PRWEB) May 28, 2014 -- Three QHR client hospitals have been named among iVantage Health Analytics' 2014 HEALTHSTRONG™ Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals, including Gifford Medical Center (Randolph, VT), Huron Regional Medical Center (Huron, South Dakota) and Steele Memorial Medical Center (Salmon, ID).
The iVantage Hospital Strength Index™ is a nationwide hospital rating system that evaluates U.S. general acute care hospitals using a balanced scorecard to measure market strength, population growth, value-based purchasing, qualitative factors and financial measures that project sustainability.
The results recognize that the Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals provide a healthcare safety net to communities across rural America – measuring the hospitals across 66 different performance metrics, including quality, outcomes, patient perspective, affordability, population risk and efficiency.
"Hospitals are being challenged like never before to maintain their performance," said Jeff Hill, CEO of Steele Memorial Medical Center. "It is an honor for us to receive this award and serve as a role model for other hospitals."
"Community hospitals are vital to the health of millions of individuals throughout America," said QHR President and CEO James L. Horrar. "We are proud of our client hospitals' efforts to achieve the distinction as three of the nation's top Critical Access Hospitals."
