Ethoca, the industry standard for collaboration-based technology solutions that help card issuers and online merchants increase card acceptance and stop ecommerce fraud, today announced the further expansion of its EMEA team based in London, U.K. Shelley Palmer and Mike Healey, both payments and card fraud industry veterans, join the organisation in pivotal roles focused on expanding and deepening relationships with Ethoca’s network of card issuer customers in the rapidly growing EMEA region.

Ethoca’s card issuer customers provide Ethoca with an exclusive, valuable source of cardholder-confirmed fraud and card acceptance intelligence that enables merchants on the Ethoca Network to increase revenue, stop more fraud and make chargebacks a thing of the past. Card issuers benefit directly from their participation in the network by improving the customer experience for their cardholders, increasing income from higher transaction acceptance and reducing write-offs on low-value and 3D Secure transactions.

Shelley Palmer, a respected payments and card fraud industry veteran with more than 20 years of experience, joins Ethoca as Issuer Relations Director, EMEA. Shelley will focus on deepening relationships with Ethoca’s card issuing customers, while maximising the value they realise through continued adoption of Ethoca service innovations and performance enhancements. Shelley has an extensive account management and fraud operations background that spans debit, credit and prepaid card issuing. During the last 10 years, she has held key roles at MasterCard as Senior Account Manager and Vice President, Customer Security and Risk. These were high-profile positions that served not only card issuers, but also stakeholders across the payments value chain, including acquirers, card schemes, processors and various solution providers. Her extensive personal and professional network in the payments industry, including her work as a board member of the Fraud Women’s Network, makes her the ideal choice for this important role.

Mike Healey, another proven card issuing and card fraud industry leader with decades of experience, joins Ethoca as Issuer Sales Director, EMEA. Mike will focus on expanding EMEA card issuer participation in the Ethoca Network through direct sales as well as strategic channel partner relationships. Mike has deep roots in payments systems integration, risk management and card fraud, as well as a proven history of sales leadership in fast-growing organisations. Most recently, from 2002 to 2013, Mike led risk sales for Adeptra, a supplier of automated cardholder contact technology. Mike built highly successful sales relationships with eight of the top 10 UK card issuers before assuming the role of Sales Director for Adeptra’s APAC region.

“We are thrilled to have Shelley and Mike join Ethoca’s EMEA team in these key roles,” said Jamie Byles, Regional Director, Ethoca EMEA. “Their experience in the industry is widely recognised and both have built trusted relationships with card issuers throughout the region. Through the direct efforts of Shelley and Mike, Ethoca’s growing network of card issuers will continue to realise more card acceptance and fraud loss avoidance benefits.”

“As Ethoca continues its global expansion, we’re always on the lookout for highly-regarded leaders like Shelley and Mike to build and deepen relationships with card issuers in the UK, while also spearheading our entry into new markets in the EMEA region,” said Andre Edelbrock, Co-Founder and CEO, Ethoca. “That Shelley and Mike have chosen Ethoca as the next destination in their already accomplished careers is a testament to the value of card issuer-merchant collaboration, a category Ethoca created and continues to grow throughout the ecommerce industry.”
