Mozido Lends Tech to St. Edward’s University Hackathon for Social Good
Austin, TX (PRWEB) May 28, 2014 -- Mozido, a worldwide leader in mobile financial services, today announced that it will be an official sponsor for the second annual ATX Hack For Change, taking place at St. Edward’s University Saturday, May 31, and Sunday, June 1. This event brings together Austinites interested in changing our community and our world by creating solutions geared towards improving the environment, public transit, hunger and food waste, government, arts and culture, and health.
Participants of the hackathon will receive exclusive access to the APIs for Mozido’s StickyStreet loyalty platform to build solutions for local projects and non-profit causes similar to AISD’s literacy project, Austin Housing Authority, Unperished, and Urban Patchwork. The easy-to-use loyalty platform provides a responsive web portal that tracks and incentivizes donor behavior, and can also be easily integrated with other systems, making it an effective tool for hackathons focused on social good.
“We are excited that Mozido has offered up use of its StickyStreet platform this year,” said Claire Dunn, Lead Organizer, ATX Hack for Change, St. Edward’s University. “We saw a lot of creative ideas come out of last year’s ATX Hack For Change, and we think the features in Mozido’s loyalty platform will help enable a new level of innovation and we’re looking forward to seeing how this year’s participants leverage it to accelerate social good.”
ATX Hack For Change marks an important extension of Mozido’s commitment to social responsibility, a signature value that has been woven into the company’s mission since being founded by Michael Liberty in 2008. Mozido also participated in another recent hack for social good at this year’s SXSW festival in Austin.
“Using technology to revolutionize the lives of the less fortunate, whether they reside in Austin or Africa, has always been central to Mozido – in fact, the idea of doing well by doing good remains an overarching theme in the office, and serves as a daily reminder of what we are capable of,” said David Luther, CMO and EVP Business Development at Mozido. “The ATX Hack For Change is an illustration of Mozido’s commitment to socially responsible innovation that can take place in our own backyard and we’re honored to be involved with such a purposeful and forward-thinking group of individuals.”
