Educators will find Whiteboard's new live recording function extremely exciting and extremely useful.

The IPEVO Whiteboard app for iPad – created to give teachers a way to turn iPad into an interactive whiteboard – has just undergone a significant update. Available at no cost through the Apple App Store, Whiteboard was designed by education technology company IPEVO as a complement to its line of popular document cameras – including the new iZiggi-HD Wireless Document Camera – and related products. IPEVO Whiteboard now features support for Apple iOS 7 as well as a new live video and voice recording feature.
IPEVO Whiteboard for iPad consists of a drawing toolkit with intuitive touchscreen controls. The user can add lines, shapes, text boxes, arrows and a movable pointer to an image in real time. These annotations serve to add emphasis and focus attention to enhance teaching material. Images are referred to as "boards" and may be saved for later reference or swapped between. Board images come from a variety of sources: a blank white canvas; an image from iPad's Photo Library; the live video from the iPad's built-in camera; or from one of IPEVO's signature document cameras, including the iZiggi-HD Wireless Document Camera.
With IPEVO Whiteboard and iZiggi-HD working in tandem, educators can capture high-definition live video of documents, artwork, 3D objects, or devices with screens, and then annotate that image during a lesson. With Apple TV Airplay and a projector, this setup allows teachers to create a portable interactive whiteboard for the benefit of the class.
The latest version of IPEVO Whiteboard is fully compatible with Apple iOS 7. This version also adds a live recording feature to give educators a way to preserve annotated lessons for future reference. The real-time annotated video image can now be captured, along with voice recording from the iPad's built-in microphone. Lectures and presentations are saved onto the iPad's hard drive, with annotation appearing on the video just as it did in real time.
"The new IPEVO Whiteboard addresses a need that's been commonly voiced in our user community," said Royce Hong, CEO and big head of design for IPEVO. "Educators will find Whiteboard's new live recording function extremely exciting and extremely useful. Lessons, complete with annotation as it happens as well as the teacher's voice, can now be captured and permanently preserved. Whether it's helping an absent student catch up or maintaining a invaluable archive of past lectures, IPEVO Whiteboard has given educators one more way to maximize their teaching."
The newest version of IPEVO Whiteboard for Apple iOS 7, complete with a new live video and audio recording feature, is now available through the Apple App Store at no cost. The iZiggi-HD Wireless Document Camera is available directly through the IPEVO Online Store at http://www.ipevo.com.
