Electric Vehicle drivers have formed their own 'community' and to have companies like Hines coming up with ways to encourage collaboration amongst this community is definitely something to celebrate.

Washington, DC (PRWEB) June 02, 2014

Hines - Pleasanton Corporate Commons received a BOMA Bay Area Innovative Earth Award for installing electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, creating an online etiquette group for tenants and encouraging a collaborative environment amongst charging station users. SemaConnect, the company chosen by Hines to install the electric vehicle charging stations, congratulates them for receiving the award and for their
innovation and dedication to encouraging electric vehicle use.

“We truly applaud Hines for receiving this EV etiquette award,” said Mark Pastrone, VP of Business Development at SemaConnect. “Electric Vehicle drivers have formed their own ‘community’ and to have companies like Hines coming up with ways to encourage collaboration amongst this community is definitely something to celebrate.”

Pleasanton Corporate Commons installed the EV Charging Stations as a free amenity to tenants in 2012 and established campus EV Charging Etiquette and posted them on signs at all of the charging stations as well as created alternate parking spots behind the charging stations so that EV cars could ‘wait in line’. The etiquette provides drivers with guidelines for using the stations. PCC also established an online group which receives twice daily emails from the management office with station status updates. It also gives the EV users an easy way to communicate amongst themselves.

"Pleasanton Corporate Commons is a leader in sustainable efforts in our local submarket." said Greg Scharlemann, Property Manager at Hines. "In addition to this recognition by our colleagues within BOMA, PCC received LEED Platinum certification in 2013. Our team continues to explore innovative programs that enhance our sustainable efforts and improve tenant satisfaction."
