Lake Oswego, OR (PRWEB) May 28, 2014

ALFA, the national association for operators of senior living communities, recently announced the winners of its 2014 Hero Awards, naming Holiday Retirement’s Corry Roberts as one of five recipients. Roberts is the head housekeeper of Holiday’s Waterford, Michigan community, The Inn at Cass Lake, whose managers nominated Roberts for her exceptional commitment and character.

Roberts started with Holiday Retirement in February 2010 as a housekeeper. Today, she does much more.

“Since her first day on the job, Corry has shown a commitment to the community, a caring for others, and a respect for senior residents,” said Kai Hsiao, Holiday’s president and chief executive officer. “She goes beyond what’s expected of her with a positive attitude and with a focus on creating a comfortable and enjoyable lifestyle for all of the community’s residents. It’s a well-deserved award.”

Weeks before the official announcement, ALFA surprised Roberts with the news at work. See the video here: http://bit.ly/1jYusa1

Roberts was officially honored during a luncheon on May 21 at the ALFA 2014 Conference and Expo. On hand to celebrate the award were special guests astronaut Capt. Mark Kelly and former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords.

“The 2014 ALFA Hero Award winners are exemplars of the great work done every day in senior living communities across the nation,” said Rick Grimes, President and CEO of ALFA. “Their dedication and passion for serving seniors are the reasons more older adults choose to call senior living communities their home.”
