‘Rings’ Playing at SLCC’s Grand Theatre
Salt Lake City, Utah (PRWEB) May 28, 2014 -- Salt Lake Community College Grand Theatre’s Backstage at the Grand is presenting local playwright Aden Ross’ 1993 critically-acclaimed play Rings.
Ross’ piece is based on a court case in which two wealthy white women are accused of kidnapping and interrogating two Hispanic women. Judge Madeleine Crowder’s courtroom is filled with lies and tragedy as she attempts to balance justice and mercy. The play considers the subjects of racism, the inequities of class and the betrayal of loved ones, connecting the characters in interlocking rings.
Rings will run June 5-21, 7:30 p.m., and tickets are $10-$24. The Grand Theatre is located on SLCC’s South City Campus, 1575 South State Street, Salt Lake City.
