Callahan & Associates’ Credit Union Strategy & Performance (CUSP) – a quarterly publication focused on industry analysis and best practices – is being recognized for its editorial excellence with two finalist nominations for the American Society of Business Publication Editors’ (ASBPE) Azbee Awards.
Credit Union Strategy & Performance is a Mid-Atlantic Region finalist in the Company Profile – Long category for the article “When the Grass is Really Greener” written by Managing Editor Aaron Pugh. In the article, Pugh reveals how Maps Credit Union uses Credit Union Service Organizations to expand its footprint and enhance business capabilities.
In the category of Humorous/Fun Department, Credit Union Strategy & Performance is being recognized as both a Mid-Atlantic Region and national finalist for its recurring Diversions section, which provides credit unions with applicable lessons from companies outside the industry. Leigh Anne Terry, Talent Development, and Erik Payne, Writer, are nominated for their contributions.

The nominations continue a run of success for Callahan & Associates, which won two national and two regional Azbees last year.
Azbees are awarded annually by the ASBPE – a professional association for editors, writers, art directors and designers working in a business-to-business capacity. The contest is one of the largest domestic business publication competitions in the U.S.
All Azbee Award entries are judged by a combination of business editors, designers, consultants and academicians. The top entries overall are selected as finalists for the national competition while other top entries are chosen as regional finalists. Finalists are selected based on quality of writing, reporting and editing; development of the subject; presentation; and value to readers. The winning finalists are awarded with a gold, silver or bronze award in their respective categories.
Winners for the Mid-Atlantic Region will be announced at the ASBPE’s regional banquet in Washington, D.C. on June 24. National winners will be revealed at the ASBPE national ceremony in Chicago on July 25.
