Long Beach, California (PRWEB) May 29, 2014
UTi Worldwide Inc. (NASDAQ: UTIW), a global supply chain services and solutions company, has been evaluated as a 3PL 'leader' in Gartner's Magic Quadrant Report.
The annual report, Magic Quadrant for Global Third-Party Logistics Providers (May 12, 2014), compiled by Gartner analysts Greg Aimi, James Lisica, and David Gonzalez, assesses the capabilities of 3PL providers. It is an authoritative procurement source for companies, and is an instrumental tool in the supply chain decision-making process.
"We believe this is a tremendous accomplishment for UTi, as Gartner's Magic Quadrant report is recognized as the definitive and neutral source for rating 3PLs and IT solutions and is used by procurement departments to evaluate companies' services," said Eric Kirchner, Chief Executive Officer, UTi Worldwide.
"In comparing last year's report to this year's, UTi made significant positive gains that we believe can be largely attributed to the deployment of 1VIEW, our new global operating system, which provides a consistent, integrated view among clients, trading partners and UTi,” said Kirchner.
"We will not be complacent about our position and plan on improving our 'leader' designation within the quadrant," he added, "We will continue to perfect our global processes and use client feedback to drive further improvements."
UTi, headquartered in Long Beach, California, is the only U.S.-based company in the "Leader" quadrant.
