United Hebrew of New Rochelle Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Receives 26 Custom Built Tilt in Space Wheelchairs for Non-ambulatory Residents.
New Rochelle, NY (PRWEB) May 29, 2014 -- Partnering with Cair Medical, a seating and mobility company, and the collaborating efforts of the Rehabilitation and Finance departments at United Hebrew, qualifying residents were identified and custom-measured for a tilt in space wheelchair. A Tilt-in-Space wheelchair provides the necessary change in position for residents who cannot independently shift their body weight or change position. These residents would be at a higher risk for skin breakdown and their sitting tolerance is compromised. Tilt in space wheelchairs will also help improve ability to swallow and eat and increase air flow.
