Daniel Matthews, EVP of Strategic Programs, Information Innovators Inc., is the Recipient of the 2014 AFCEA Leadership Award
Springfield, Virginia (PRWEB) May 29, 2014 -- Information Innovators Inc. (Triple-i) is proud to announce that Daniel Matthews, Executive Vice President of Strategic Programs, is the Recipient of the 2014 AFCEA Leadership Award. Matthews will be honored during the Awards ceremony being held during the AFCEA Cyber Symposium on Monday, June 23, 2014 at the Baltimore Convention Center.
The award is given every year to a long-standing member of AFCEA with a record of sustained contributions to the Association, and exceptional leadership skills.
“It’s an honor to be recognized by AFCEA International. Their mission of bringing Government and Industry together is an important one. The opportunity to work with dedicated people is key for success in bringing everyone together to discuss temporal issues. This award rightfully belongs to those individuals as it is they that craft the program events for AFCEA. It is my great honor to be part of AFCEA and accept the prestigious 2014 Leadership Award,” Matthews said.
In 2006, Matthews joined the AFCEA Bethesda Board. He conceptualized, planned, organized and led a team to successfully conduct the first Health IT day. This highly successful program fosters better inter-agency communication among key stakeholders and discusses how industry can support federal government initiatives. Since Dan’s founding of the concept, the program has brought together thousands of industry and government IT executives and has raised hundreds of thousands for AFCEA Bethesda’s scholarship programs. In 2013, Dan joined the AFCEA Bethesda Board again as the VP of Government Outreach. As a past CIO, Dan has continued strong relationships with many senior government IT executives. He has leveraged his connections to reshape and lead the AFCEA Government Advisory Council.
Leslie Steele, InterImage, states, “His leadership has left a lasting legacy, enriching AFCEA Bethesda, promoting increased avenues for information exchange, and, through the scholarship funds generated by IT Days, improving the lives of many scholarship recipients.”
Matthews joined Triple-i in 2010 and is the Executive Vice President of Strategic Programs. He is also a U.S. Air Force veteran and he holds a Master of Science degree in Business Administration.
