Wheelchair Transit is One of Toronto’s Only Disabled Transportation Services Offering Discounted Rides to Clients
Toronto, ON (PRWEB) May 30, 2014 -- Disabled citizens of Toronto often have difficulty getting around. Services in some areas are limited, and even when transportation is available, it’s often very expensive. Because many disabled individuals are unable to work and are on fixed incomes, these expensive services simply aren’t an option. The professionals at Wheelchair Transit have years of experience in transporting those with special needs, and the company provides affordable transportation in the Greater Toronto Area and other destinations across Ontario.
The discounted rides offered via the Wheelchair Transit website change on a monthly basis. This provides customers with rotating options. Each discount is based on a destination. For example, during the month of May 2014, customers can visit Windreach Farms and take 10 percent off of the usual fair. Another discount offered during this month is a trip to Casino Niagra. The regular price is discounted by 15 percent. These discounts are usually for round trips.
There are usually half a dozen or more of these specials available each month. To book one, all a person has to do is call the company or book online. The discount will be automatically deducted at checkout. When making a booking over the phone, customers will need to have an account number so that the charges can be applied to the correct account. Trips need to be booked at least 24 hours ahead of time. Those booked on the same day may need to be somewhat flexible in their pick-up times.
Wheelchair Transit has a number of vehicles in their fleet. This includes wheelchair friendly taxi cabs, wheelchair accessible vans, and even school buses. All of these vehicles are accessible for those with disabilities. Many are also able to carry fairly large groups, are very safe, and are cost efficient. Groups, especially schools, that are unable to afford a bus with a wheelchair lift can work with Wheelchair Transit to have one available for field trips and other long distance trips. The large and extra-large accessible vans are perfect for retirement homes and senior citizen trips. The extra-large van even has extra baggage space for groups traveling long distance.
In addition to the special discounted trips, Wheelchair Transit offers hourly rate trips. Specific groups and large groups may also be able to take advantage of special discounts. Customers do not have to pay at the time of transport—a bill is mailed out monthly. Those interested in Wheelchair Transit or in taking advantage of this month’s specials should visit the company website.
