2014 Teva Cup Championship

The guides who work for these companies are the best in the country, and the two rivers offer excitement for every skill level, from novice to expert.

Quepos, Costa Rica (PRWEB) June 03, 2014

The 2014 Teva Rafting Cup was held last weekend on the Naranjo River, near Costa Rica's popular Manuel Antonio National Park. Teams consisted of four paddlers in each raft, which is known as an R4 race under the guidelines of the International Rafting Federation (IRF).

On the first day of the event, teams competed in a sprint race and head-to-head rafting. The following day, teams raced in a twelve kilometer downriver race. Finally, the most challenging part of the competition, the slalom, took place on Sunday.

After three days of competition, with teams consisting of the area’s best guides and river professionals, a team sponsored by local company PRO Rafting took the win. Team members include PRO Rafting owner and main guide, Felipe Cervilla, and the paddlers on the team, Jonathan Mora Solano, William Molina Vasquez, Juan Jose Molina Vazquez, Ronny Mora and Roberto Mendoza; all proud to have kept the trophy in their hometown area of Manuel Antonio, where both the Naranjo and Savegre Rivers provide the ideal setting for adventure-seeking tourists on a daily basis.

The Naranjo and Savegre Rivers are located only 35 minutes away from the Tulemar resort, in Manuel Antonio. Chris Madrigal, one of Tulemar’s personal concierges, reports that whitewater rafting is a favorite activity among visitors to the 33-acre resort community. “Not only do the guests who stay in our vacation rental homes get to enjoy the kayaks on our private beach, they can also enjoy rafting on those beautiful rivers that are so close to us, and this is really a great combination of different sceneries and activity levels.

The guides who work for these companies are the best in the country, and the two rivers offer excitement for every skill level, from novice to expert.”

Costa Rica’s Pacific coast, including Manuel Antonio area, offers easy access to many types of activities and sightseeing tours, making it one of Central America’s most popular travel destinations.

Tulemar Resort is located in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica, and is the 2014 recipient of TripAdvisor's "Best Hotels for Families".
