We strive to help people improve the quality of their professional lives with our services, and doing so outside of the office is just as important.

Kensington International, the Chicago office of Career Partners International, hosted their annual Women’s Executive Networking Event to benefit Poised for Success on April 30th. The mission of this non-profit organization is to provide, at no cost, interview and business-appropriate clothing to women entering the job market. In addition, their volunteers assist clients in building self-esteem and interview skills, as well as offering referrals to other local service organizations that provide job-skills training and job placement.

In 2009, a couple of Kensington female leaders came together to brainstorm about how they could make an impact on a special charity, while also bringing together their clients in top HR and line management positions. The first annual event to benefit Poised for Success was held in May, 2009. Since then, the event has expanded tremendously. At this year’s event, more than $2,000 was raised and over 600 pieces of clothing and accessories were donated and collected for Poised for Success.

“Our mission is to enhance organizational performance and people’s lives every day and that doesn’t mean only in the office,” said David P. Hemmer, President and CEO of Career Partners International. “The efforts of Kensington International to reach out to their community and help those in need exemplify the values of Career Partners International. We strive to help people improve the quality of their professional lives with our services, and doing so outside of the office is just as important.”

Not only does this event allow executive women to network while they enjoy a glass of wine and appetizers, it also provides an opportunity to learn more about Poised for Success. This way – Poised for Success can grow their own network and list of volunteers. A win-win for all involved.

Attendees were able to get together with old colleagues and make new connections, all while supporting an important cause. The fabulous gift bags and raffle prizes, in addition to the cocktails and hors d’oeuvres being served, were just an extra perk to attending this wonderful event.

Kensington International hosts this annual executive networking and charity event every spring. To receive more information on this event, please e-mail dspiekhout(at)kionline(dot)com or call 312.658.1065.
