Pump Products Expands Inventory of Trash Pumps with Addition of TrunkPump PTO and Hydraulic Driven Pumps
Wallington, NJ (PRWEB) May 30, 2014 -- With the addition of TrunkPump PTO Driven and Hydraulic Pumps, Pump Products brings the ease and efficiency of tractor-driven pumps to its premium inventory of wastewater and agricultural trash pumps by top manufacturers like Berkeley and BJM this spring.
Trash pumps are used to pump large volumes of water laden with dirt, sludge, leaves and twigs in a variety of common applications including agriculture, construction and flood remediation. They are rugged, mobile, engine-driven units designed for use in areas with no electrical access. Most portable trash pumps are frame-mounted engine units, fueled by gasoline or diesel, that must be manually positioned, fueled and primed before pumping.
By contrast, TrunkPump models run off of a tractor's power take-off (PTO) or remote hydraulic connections. Mounted on a steel frame that attaches to a standard tractor hitch, a self-priming TrunkPump can be driven directly to a job site and quickly deployed.
"Typically the spring and fall are when flooding occurs," says Product Expert Fred Hettinger. "PTO and hydraulically driven trash pumps like these are often used after major storms and for irrigation on large farms. They're great because you just load them onto a tractor, drive them to the job site, and start pumping. No engine to maintain. No gas tank to monitor."
Pump Products carries TrunkPump PTO-driven pumps and hydraulically-driven models with flow rates from 140 to over 500 gallons per minute and head pressure ranges from 80 to over 200 feet. Able to handle solids of up to a 3/8in. and remove water to 1/2in., TrunkPump models are ideal for a variety of common applications including farming, grounds management, highway and road building, municipal maintenance, disaster relief, fire fighting and pond maintenance.
In addition to being more energy efficient than stand-alone, gas-driven units, TrunkPumps are easier to maintain, with no engine to service and no gas tank to fill. Other benefits include a compact design that allows hoses to remain attached during transport and storage, and quiet operation, which makes them ideal for night service.
"Low maintenance and ease of use are what we like about this line," says General Manager Ed Drejman. "Most compact tractors have more than enough power to run a TrunkPump trash pump, which attaches to a standard three-point hitch and runs off a tractor's PTO or hydraulic connections, no tools required. They make pumping a one-man operation."
