Sausalito Film Series at Cavallo Point Presents Outstanding Special Screening
Sausalito, CA (PRWEB) May 30, 2014 -- Proudly celebrating its 6th year, the Sausalito Film Festival has now transformed into the Sausalito Film Series at Cavallo Point. The Series, Presented by Stella Artois, will feature several films annually that create new awareness and perspectives about our lives, our planet and our future. The Series will present films via Special Screenings that will also include compelling conversations with activists, environmentalists and filmmakers. The Series Opening Night Event will take place at Cavallo Point on May 31st.
Known for celebrating films with meaningful content, this year’s Spring Film Event will be the Special Screening of Slingshot. Directed by Paul Lazarus, Slingshot is a film about revolutionary technology and a passion to improve people’s lives. It is a tale of David tackling Goliath….and triumphing. It is about a modern-day Thomas Edison making his mark by providing clean water for the world. Something we seemingly now take for granted.
“Opening Night” for the 2014 Series this Saturday, May 31st, at Cavallo Point begins at 6 PM with a cocktail reception and culinary delights from Cavallo’s world class kitchen. The featured film Slingshot will begin at 7 PM followed by an After-Film Discussion featuring the film’s producer Barry Opper and activists that include Linda Sheehan from Earth Law, John Wick from the Marin Carbon Project and Graham Ray of DeepRoot. The After-Film Discussion will be Moderated by Dana King. The Sausalito Chamber of Commerce is once again partnering with the film festival to produce the festive Opening Night event; tickets are $75 per person and are available online.
