“In choosing MEDSEEK, we sought a partner that could not only provide the technology needed, but also guidance in assisting us to prepare for attestation.” Patric Thomas, Corporate Vice President and CIO, Scripps Health

MEDSEEK announced today that multiple client health systems have attested for Meaningful Use objectives using the enterprise patient portal technology, MEDSEEK Empower. These healthcare organizations have met Meaningful Use requirements in advance of the deadline for the attestation process, with at least twenty more MEDSEEK Empower clients planning to attest for Meaningful Use by October 2014.

The hospitals have attested for Meaningful Use Stage One, Phase Two, and for Meaningful Use Stage Two using the MEDSEEK patient portal. Among the requirements for Meaningful Use Stage One are: healthcare organizations must provide patients access to an electronic copy of their health record online (with updates for new episodes of care made available within four days of the event), and clinical summaries for each office visit (within three days of the visit). Meaningful Use Stage Two includes measurements around patient engagement, validating whether those patients are accessing their medical records, sending secure messages and receiving health information from the portal.

“We are very pleased that our clients are succeeding with Meaningful Use attestation,” said Peter Kuhn, CEO, MEDSEEK. “Their achievement represents hard work, significant organizational leadership and a commitment to providing quality care to their patients.”

Scripps Health is partnering with MEDSEEK for our Meaningful Use attestation. We have currently upgraded to their Meaningful Use certified platform and are preparing to begin attestation in Q3 of this year,” said Patric Thomas, Corporate Vice President and CIO, Scripps Health. “In choosing MEDSEEK, we sought a partner that could not only provide the technology needed, but also guidance in assisting us to prepare for attestation.”

In addition to helping hospitals meet the Meaningful Use patient engagement objectives, MEDSEEK Empower provides advanced capabilities such as mobile access, direct appointment scheduling, device integration, prescription renewal, referral requests, and more to further encourage patient adoption and utilization of the technology. Additionally, hospitals can further influence patient behavior for healthier populations by incorporating other MEDSEEK products, such as MEDSEEK Predict customer relationship management system and MEDSEEK Navigate care management technology.
