Next, Beth demonstrates the strumming pattern for the verse in two sections as follows: section one is down, down, down, down, up (1, 2, 3, 4, &) and for section two is up, down, down, down, up (1, &, 2, 3, 4), which she says both sections are played together for each chord of the verse.
