Billy Dean Returns to His Roots at the Grand Ole Opry
Branson, MO (PRWEB) June 01, 2014 -- Starlite Theatre is excited to announce that one of our entertainers, Billy Dean and the Steel Horses, will be gracing the stage of the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, TN on June 17, 2014.
Billy Dean truly began his career on the stage of the Opry in 1982 where he was a finalist of the "Wrangler Star Search" competition when he was just nineteen. Looking out from the Grand Ole Opry stage during the finalist performances was inspiring for the budding young entertainer and the encouragement he received from members of the panel of country music professionals assembled there as judges inspired Dean to move to Nashville to live out his dream.
And Billy did just that. His amazing career has resulted in 8 studio albums since 1990, 4 of which have been certified “Gold.” He has generated more than 20 hit singles on the Billboard country charts including 11 Top Ten hits. Billy earned CMA Song of the Year honors for his hit “Somewhere In My Broken Heart” and a Grammy win for his collaboration with Susan Ashton (“In The Garden”) on the album “Country Salutes Gospel.” Other notable accolades include BMI Pop Awards, BMI Song Awards, BMI Million Air Plays Award, Country Music Television Rising Star Award, NSAI Song of The Year and Academy of Country Music Award for New Male Vocalist of the Year 1992.
Billy Dean and the Steel Horses will be performing three songs then he will join his friend Anna Wilson for a duet of "Cherokee Maiden" off Anna's upcoming album "Countrypolitan Duets".
Billy Dean can be seen Live at the Starlite Theatre from select dates this June-November 2014. For more information, call (866) 991-8445 or online at Starlitetheatre.com.
