'Jaanuu spawned from a sister’s and brother’s dream to reimagine an otherwise boring category while maintaining an eye on the pay it forward prize,' said Co-Founder Dr. Neela Sethi Young.

Los Angeles-based medical apparel company, Jaanuu, launches its first collection featuring contemporary, runway-inspired silhouettes made from the most premium of antimicrobial fabrics. Presenting the first ever four-fabric stretch blend in the medical apparel market, Jaanuu’s collection offers anti-odor protection, inhibits the spread of bacteria and uses eco-friendly Tencel® fabric that moves with the body, wicks away moisture, and eliminates stains and wrinkles.

Inspired by Dr. Neela’s closet, the Jaanuu collection features two top designs including “The Dolman Top,” a fresh take on the iconic dolman tapered sleeve, and “The Peplum Top,” a wildly trendy silhouette that cinches at the waist and displays a premium side gold zipper entry for a more sophisticated look. Moreover, the collection features two pant silhouettes, including “The Skinny Pant,” a form-fitting and dainty figure with optional denim-like cuffs, and “The Flare Leg Pant,” a denim-inspired cargo pant with twisted contrast seams and signature back-pocket embroidery. The full collection is available in five colors including black, graphite, estate blue, plum and rose wine. Retailing for $39 (tops) and $42 (pants), the entire collection is available at, with exclusive additional pieces to launch throughout the year. By purchasing Jaanuu apparel, customers will support Runway 2 RemedyTM, a social initiative whereby each Jaanuu purchase provides medicine to child victims of sexual slavery.

“Jaanuu spawned from a sister’s and brother’s dream to reimagine an otherwise boring category while maintaining an eye on the ‘pay it forward’ prize,” said Co-Founder Dr. Neela Sethi Young. “While our goal was to create a medical apparel line that all women would feel comfortable and confident in; it was also a big goal of ours to create a product that would protect their homes. Knowing that over 90% of uniforms contained bacteria after one shift on a general medical floor, as a mother, I never understood why I was naïve enough to bring these bacteria back home to my young children. So we worked with some extraordinary fabric mills to produce not only a super soft stretch fabric with moisture wicking and wrinkle resistance properties, but also an antimicrobial finish to protect our fabric while inhibiting the growth of odor causing bacteria, yeast and algae. We are thrilled to share our creation with the world.”

Jaanuu is comprised of a highly skilled team of designers, production managers and software developers who have trained, invested in or worked with industry leading companies including Lululemon, Bisou Bisou, Skechers, American Eagle Outfitters, Quiksilver and DSW.
