Food in Bloom Joins Oregon United for Marriage and Basic Rights Oregon in Celebrating Marriage Equality in Oregon
Portland, OR (PRWEB) June 02, 2014 -- Food in Bloom, one of Portland’s largest and most successful catering businesses, joined Oregon United for Marriage, Basic Rights Oregon, ACLU Oregon, and more than 1,000 individuals in the celebration of Marriage Equality in Oregon held at the Montgomery Park Atrium and Ballroom this Saturday night in Portland.
Governor John Kitzhaber, Rep. Jeff Merkley, and Sam Adams, the actor who plays the mayor’s assistant in the popular television series, Portlandia, were all on hand to salute the hard work and dedication of those who have fought to make marriage equality in Oregon a reality.
Revelers enjoyed food and drink donated by local restaurants, breweries and wineries including Kenny & Zukes, Ninkasi, Cupcake Jones, Lardo, La Bonita, Mother’s Bistro, Willamette Valley Vineyards and many others. They were treated to a rousing performance by the LoveBomb Go-Go marching band and danced to the high-energy tunes spun by DJ Zimmie. Food in Bloom provided food, servers and the venue.
“Marriage equality is more than a victory for the LGBT community. It’s a victory for everyone who believes in things like basic human dignity, love and common sense,” said Art Fortuna, president and owner of Food in Bloom. “What’s more, the LGBT community isn’t afraid to go all in when it comes to throwing amazing parties. It’s safe to say the catering industry is about to be asked to help orchestrate some absolutely spectacular wedding receptions. Let the fun begin!”
Food in Bloom is honored to be the exclusive caterer at several of Portland’s most esteemed venues including Montgomery Park and the new Eastside Exchange Ballroom & Cascade Rooftop. For more information and booking contact Elizabeth Hardison at 503-964-8662 or ehardison(at)foodinbloominc(dot)com.
