Latta Insurance to Support 2014 W.C. Handy Festival
Henderson, KY (PRWEB) June 03, 2014 -- Latta Insurance along with other member agencies of the Independent Insurance Agents of Henderson (IIAH) will be supporting the W.C. Handy Festival this year by working the Java Shake booth on Thursday June 12th. The festival honors William Christopher Handy, a Henderson, KY resident, who was known as the “Father of Blues.” W.C. Handy’s music was inspired by Henderson’s community and influenced by his experiences in the city. For this reason he became the namesake of this widely celebrated festival.
Attendees of the festival come from all over the country to celebrate some of the best national and local blues talent. It also includes a “Taste of Henderson Barbecue” event and various other activities spread out throughout the week.
One of Latta Insurance’s producers, Jeremy Myers, is the Chairman on the W.C. Handy Festival. Myers oversees the festival goals and objectives, and coordinates the sub-committees of the festival. Latta Insurance has been a long-time supporter of this community event. The agency has worked with the IIAH to volunteer at the Java Shake booth for over 10 years. The W.C. Handy Festival will begin on Saturday June 7th and run through Saturday June 14th. Latta Insurance encourages the community to attend and support this fun-filled event.
