StoneRidge Senior Living Community Sponsors Wine Tasting At The Seaport
Stonington, CT (PRWEB) June 04, 2014 -- StoneRidge, a senior living community, will sponsor a wine tasting and luncheon event designed to share the many opportunities available to make the most of senior lifestyles.
Wine Tasting at the Seaport will be held at 12:00pm on Thursday, June 19 at LATITUDE 41° Restaurant and Tavern, 105 Greenmanville Avenue, Mystic, CT 06355. The afternoon will include a sampling of three new wines perfectly paired with a delicious three-course meal. Registration is required. RSVP at 860-222-2078.
This event will highlight StoneRidge seniors who are making a powerful impact on the community through volunteerism. According to the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS), senior volunteering is at a 10-year high and residents of StoneRidge are part of the trend.
Guests will have an opportunity to meet StoneRidge resident, Barbara Miller, who recently retired from 20 years of service as the volunteer director of the Naval Submarine Base New London's (SUBASE) Fleet and Family Support Center. Miller will speak about her years as a volunteer and share some of the ways she plans to continue her dedication and commitment to the community as a new volunteer for Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center.
The event will highlight community volunteers who will share their stories with guests as they dine on an array of gourmet food and wine pairings.
