InDemand Interpreting Raises $8.8M to Fuel Growth and Innovation
Seattle, WA (PRWEB) June 02, 2014 -- InDemand Interpreting announced today that it has raised a total of $8.8M in expansion capital. Health Enterprise Partners of New York led the round, with participation by existing investors and management. The investment will be used to further support InDemand’s rapid growth and its commitment to helping its health care partners provide quality healthcare to Limited English Proficient (LEP) and deaf patients.
“Over the last seven years, InDemand Interpreting has built a proven solution for delivering interpreting services to hospitals, clinics and physician practices. They’ve led the industry in innovation, being the first to market with a PC-based approach to Video Remote Interpreting, and introducing new features such as selection of interpreter by gender, remote control of interpreting workstations and internal call center support,” said Rick Stowe, General Partner at Health Enterprise Partners. “Jim Ewel is a proven executive leading a seasoned team with deep experience scaling best-in-class technology platforms. We see tremendous opportunity for InDemand to solidify its position of market leadership in the language services market and beyond.” Rick will join the Company’s Board of Directors.
InDemand will use the capital infusion to accelerate product growth and innovation, to invest in additional sales and marketing resources, and to continue evaluating strategic acquisition opportunities.
“Our vision is that every patient should receive the highest quality healthcare, regardless of language, cultural background or disability,” said Jim Ewel, CEO of InDemand Interpreting. “We’re very excited to use this funding to realize our vision and to continue our mission of helping our healthcare partners deliver quality healthcare to deaf and limited-English proficient patients. HEP’s deep health care expertise, coupled with their base of provider and payer limited partners, make them an ideal partner for us.”
