Waterford, VA (PRWEB) June 11, 2014
Dust off your dancing shoes, pull out your cocktail attire, and come celebrate with friends at the Journey Through Hallowed Ground Partnership’s Annual Auction & Gala scheduled for Saturday, June 21st at Merry Oak Farm in The Plains, VA.
At the very heart of the Journey Through Hallowed Ground is a deep love of the region from Gettysburg to Monticello and its remarkable history and beauty. This year’s event will be special, as retiring Congressman Frank Wolf will be honored for his array of contributions to Virginia. It was Congressman Wolf who introduced legislation designating this region as the 38th National Heritage Area in the country.
In addition to the special ceremony, attendees will be greeted with signature cocktails and delicious heavy hors d’oeuvres as they browse silent and live auction items. Bid on must-have getaways, behind-the-scenes tours, packages that make it easy to explore The Journey, unique artwork, and other wonderful products and services. Highlights include an after hours private tour for eight at James Madison’s Montpelier, hosted by the Foundation President Kat Imhoff with cocktails on the back steps, followed by dinner with the President in her residence on the grounds; a two-night weekend beach getaway in Tampa which includes breakfast & a round of golf for two at the Innisbrook Golf Resort courtesy of Salamander Hotels & Resorts; a traditional afternoon tea for six at Oatlands Plantation; and so much more.
After the auction, dance the night away to great Motown must with a terrific band, the Fabulous Bel-Airs. Table sponsorships and event sponsorships are available. Individual tickets can be purchased for $175 each. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit http://www.HallowedGround.org/gala.
