Veon Companies Completes Lease Space for the Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg, PA
WEST MIDDLESEX, PA (PRWEB) June 04, 2014 -- Veon Companies, a leading construction and real estate services company located in West Middlesex, Pa., recently completed fit-out of the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) facility in McConnellsburg, Pa. PSP occupied the building April 1, 2014.
The 8,100-square-foot facility was designed to reduce operational expenses for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, thereby making more efficient use of taxpayer dollars. The facility features a range of state-of-the-art technologies, including geothermal heating and cooling and energy efficient lighting systems. Veon Companies designed the building and chose materials to withstand wear and tear and increase the structure’s longevity and security.

The PSP McConnellsburg station was selected based on its central location, which allows for improved response by state police to incidents. A large approach area allows helicopters to safely land and take off on site, enabling search, rescue and emergency assistance from the PSP aviation unit.
The Pennsylvania Department of General Services (DGS), Bureau of Real Estate (BRE) and the state police selected Veon Companies’ proposal and design for the new facility based on a sound, innovative plan and Veon Companies’ reputation for developing other high-performance PSP facilities. “We’ve completed five PSP facilities, and we have one of the best designs,” Veon says. “The McConnellsburg location was modeled after our Harrisburg (Jonestown, Pa.) project, which has been recognized for its operational and design features.”
PSP is planning a dedication ceremony and open house for the McConnellsburg station in July.
Veon Companies responded to a request for proposals with the winning design and floor plan and secured and proposed several potential sites in the area before DGS and BRE selected the McConnellsburg location. The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania leases the site from Veon Companies.
