Pathbuilders Welcomes Women from 39 Companies Into the 26th ACHIEVA® Program
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) June 04, 2014 -- On May 20, Pathbuilders initiated the 26th Achieva® class at The Georgia World Congress Center. Aspiring to make a greater impact within their respective organizations, more than 75 high-performing women representing 39 Georgia-based companies gathered for the event. Achieva is one of Pathbuilders’ four cross-company programs designed to develop high-performing women who aim to build an executive presence and high-impact leadership within their organizations.
“Achieva prepares women to build their executive presence, navigate their organization’s culture and politics, and lead their company toward greater success,” states Helene Lollis, president of Pathbuilders. “The result is a highly customized experience that challenges members through personal one-on-one mentoring supported by rich content, dialog and a strong peer network.”
This Achieva kick-off event marked the beginning of each mentee and mentor’s commitment to the year-long mentoring and leadership development program. The program orientation included in-depth mentee and mentor training along with a partnership session where each mentee met the mentor she will be partnered with for the duration of the program year. Participants also heard from alumna who shared best practices and insight on how to make the most of the program.
Melissa Berger, vice president and senior solutions consultant with Moxie and a 2013 Achieva graduate, spoke to the 2014 class: “Achieva provided me the opportunity to focus on my goals as a leader in my organization. With this focus, guidance from my mentor, and a strong peer group, I was able to refine my leadership skills, resulting in a recent promotion with a larger team and greater leadership role within my company.”
The Achieva program experience includes one-on-one mentoring with a senior executive mentor, monthly educational workshops and peer networking events. Mentees are paired with a mentor after an extensive interview process to ensure the match with an executive-level mentor is best suited to help her grow professionally. Having personally engaged with each participant, Pathbuilders is then able to customize the workshop curriculum to meet each woman’s core developmental needs as well as create relevant peer groups for each participant.
“It is exciting to see such a dynamic and engaged class this year,” said Lollis. “After all of the success with Lean In: Women, Work, and the Will to Lead and Dare: Straight Talk on Confidence, Courage, and Career for Women in Charge, it is gratifying to see so many organizations investing in the growth and development of these high-performing women understanding it is critical to the ultimate success of their companies.”
