WorkBoat to Launch Maintenance & Repair Conference and Expo in 2015
Portland, ME (PRWEB) June 05, 2014 -- Diversified Communications, organizers of the highly successful, award-winning International WorkBoat Show, has launched a major new conference and trade show.
The inaugural WorkBoat Maintenance & Repair Conference and Expo will take place in New Orleans April 14–16, 2015, at the recently renovated Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.
After consulting with leading industry operators and suppliers, it was found that there was demand for a dedicated conference and trade show aimed at the maintenance and repair segment of the workboat industry. The Gulf region is home to several well-known shipyards and maintenance and repair facilities such as Bollinger Shipyards, Signal International, BAE Systems and VT Halter.
The new conference and expo is a natural extension of the International WorkBoat Show. “WorkBoat Maintenance & Repair Conference and Expo will provide a hyper-focused education program and exhibit hall specifically designed for fleet maintenance managers, port captains and engineers, vessel owners and operators, shipyard owners and operators, drydock operators and project managers and engineers,” said Bob Callahan, show director.
The announcement has received strong exhibitor support from several leading workboat maintenance and repair companies, including:
American Chemical Technologies
Bollinger
Chevron
IBIX North America
Independent Diving Services
Jotun Paints
Karl Senner Inc
Mast Products & E-Led Lighting
Millner- Haufen Tool Company
Sherwin-Williams
SKF Marine Industry Service Centre
Strong Hold Products
TFT Pneumatic Industrial Tools
TMS LevelCom
Williams Machine Work
The event will feature a high profile seminar and keynote program for 1,500 to 2,000 maintenance and repair professionals running alongside a trade exhibition of approximately 150 companies that supply a broad range of innovative products that are needed to run an efficient marine maintenance and repair operation.
In addition to the interaction that will take place in the education sessions and trade show floor, the show will provide ample networking opportunities. These include an opening night cocktail reception and daily happy hours. There will also be a keynote breakfast on the show floor and networking coffee breaks.
“We are also working on a facility tour of a local company involved in the marine industry,” said Callahan.
“Both the WorkBoat magazine team and International WorkBoat Show trade show team have heard from many of our exhibitors and advertisers who say that there is a real need for a show which reflects the specific challenges of the marine maintenance and repair segment,” Callahan continued. “As many people have told us during our research, it’s a market segment that needs and deserves a dedicated event to help grow and enhance our business.”
